It’s the umbrella term for a group of algorithms that can create new content. This content can take different formats: text, code, images, videos, and music, or a combination of all of these. GenAI generates output in response to a query/prompt using generative models such as Large Language Models (LLMs), relying on large datasets to achieve this. Some wellknown examples are text generators such as ChatGPT, ChatGPT's integration into Microsoft Bing, and image generators such as DALL-E and Midjourney. - Basic principles: Transparency about the use of GenAI depending on the type of use.
